About the Safe Steps Program

The group is for those who have experienced domestic violence as well as their children who have witnessed abuse in their homes. In the Safe Steps groups, we are working to support families in their healing journey.

Each week the families come together to complete a shared activity before breaking off into separate groups for parents, and age-appropriate children’s groups. Each group engages in developmentally appropriate material of the same overall topic as the other groups.

This program is run by the Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region
